Useful Services from the Family Center at the Consortium

THE FAMILY CENTER

The Family Center located at the Northshore Education Consortium in Beverly provides families with education, resources, and support focused on special needs and at-risk youth. The Family Center offers a welcoming environment with a lending library of books, high quality literature, community resource information and computer access for families. The Family Center provides further support to families through support groups, trainings and workshops.
All services are free and open to the public.


PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Lending Library– A comprehensive collection of adult and children’s books. Topics include special needs, developmental, behavioral, mental health and medical conditions in youth, substance abuse, and parenting.

Family Support - Staff is available to provide support to families and to assist in accessing materials, literature, online resources, and community opportunities.
Parent Education Groups – Small interactive groups of parents who come together to learn about a specific topic. Groups are taught by specialized professionals with expertise in the area. Space is limited to enable discussion and support.

Workshops – Morning and evening educational workshops are presented by experts in their field. Parents and professionals are welcome. Workshops are free and open to the public.

Community Resources – Information on local programs, support groups, educational offerings and recreational activities. Community bulletin board provides up-to-date information on community events

Computer-Internet Access – Computers with bookmarked websites are available for research.
